The Biden administration issued a grim warning for Americans still trapped in Afghanistan, saying it cannot ensure safety for those trying to get to the Kabul airport to be evacuated.

Thank you for registering your request to be evacuated from Afghanistan. The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan has confirmed that an undefined number of U.S. govern1nentprovided fligl1ts will begin soon. Please make your way to Hamid Karzai International Airport at this time.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR SECURITY AS YOU MAKE THIS TRIP.
The State Department has told Americans to shelter in place for the time being.
