The President of Afghanistan infamously fled as soon as the country began to collapse, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin gave a suggestion as to his potential whereabouts. 

If Defense Secretary Austin is to be believed it is possible that former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is currently in the United Arab Emirates. Secretary Austin did not have very much to share when it came to the reports that Ghani took State money with him when he fled the country.
