Senator Kristen Gillibrand wants to bring the ability to declare war back under Congress’ purview. Her statements in regards to this proposal were the exponential cost of the wars in the Middle East in terms of not only spending but human life.

Gillibrand also advocated for a total audit of the War in Afghanistan. This statement would move into a question for General Milley about the success of the Afghan army, or rather the lack of success. Milley would say that it was a total shock that the Afghan army failed completely, despite many reports saying that the US Government knew the Afghan army would fail and that the failure of the Afghan military led to the collapse of the government.
