Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal asked the generals about who was in charge of evacuations from Afghanistan. Sen. Blumenthal also pointed to the numerous private efforts to get our Afghan allies out of the country and demanded the administration appoint an evacuation czar.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin answered Blumenthal’s questions by thanking citizens for their private effort and said the administration would consider an evacuation czar.
