US-French relations are not doing too well at the moment. Recently the Biden administration snipped a deal to build submarines for the Australian government out from under the French government. Kamala was sent to France to patch things up and only made things worse. 

Kamala Harris spoke in a fake French accent while in Paris. Many French people online took issue with her apparent mocking of the French language while touring a very serious French laboratory where scientists were studying Covid-19.
