The Governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, is set to travel to the US Southern Border to visit members of the North Dakota National Guard who are stationed there.

While many are calling this move a hollow political gesture, some are calling it a sign of the times. More and more non-border states are using their resources to combat the migrant crisis while the federal government led by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris sit back and refuse to do anything.

As for the North Dakota National Guardsmen who are stationed at the border, these troops will be deployed in the region as back up for US Customs and Border Protection for up to a year.  The guardsmen are from the Bismarck-Based 975th Engineer Company and they are expected to brief Governor Burgum once he gets to the border.
