Miguel Cardona’s Focus on Diversity in Education 

What is important to talk about in this story is Secretary Cardona himself. By all accounts Education Secretary Miguel Cardona is an honest to God self-made man, he brought himself to the top of the scene with his talents as an educator. What is also true by all accounts for Cardona is his particular focus on equity and diversity in education. 

Of the policy being protested by parents were equity and diversity-based policies and curriculum changes. This is likely why Cardona, a proponent of these policies, suggested that the National School Board Association write the letter to Biden.
