Trump took a lot of heat for his endorsements in Ohio, mainly his endorsement of senate Candidate J.D. Vance.

J.D. Vance was trailing behind the competition in his race until the Trump endorsement and the Ohio GOP slammed Trump for giving Vance a leg up. Since the endorsement, J.D. Vance has managed to not only catch up with candidates Mike Gibbons and Josh Mandel but inch ahead of them. Vance is not far enough ahead to secure an election victory but he might just win if things stay on their current trajectory.
