Tom Carper (D-DE) The Delaware Senator said he wants to talk to his wife and that “the options are wide open” on whether he should run again. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Tuesday, November 17that 9:30 AM in the Senate Radio/TV Gallery, U.S. Senators Tom Carper, Ben Cardin, Sheldon Whitehouse, Brian Schatz and Ed Markey will hold a press conference to defend the President’s Clean Power Plan from an attempt by Senate Republicans to undermine the plan by holding votes on resolutions of disapproval. By addressing pollution from power plants, experts estimate that under the President’s plan, there will be 1,500 to 3,600 fewer premature deaths, 90,000 fewer asthma attacks in children, 1,700 fewer heart attacks and hospital admissions, and 300,000 fewer missed school and work days.
