Nancy Pelosi’s partisan U.S. House January 6 Committee convened Thursday to once again attack 45th President Donald Trump and blame him for the incursion of the building. They then unanimously voted to subpoena Trump, the biggest attack the committee has launched on him yet. Rep. Liz Cheney (WY), the committee’s vice-chair and soon-to-be outgoing member of Congress, bashed Trump during the rhetoric-filled meeting.
American Defense News reports:
“We must seek the testimony under oath of January 6th’s key player,” Cheney said. “We are obligated to seek answers directly from the man who set this all in motion. Every American is entitled to those answers so we can act now to protect our republic.”
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) said the committee has an “obligation” to compel Trump’s testimony.
“This is a question about accountability to the American people. He must be accountable. He is required to answer for his actions,” Thompson said, adding that the move is a “serious and extraordinary action.”
Earlier this year, Cheney claimed Trump “assembled the mob” that “attack[ed]” the Capitol last year. The congresswoman also turned on other members of her own party, accusing them of “dishonor” for supposedly “defending the indefensible.”
Cheney did not stop there. She said, “On this point, there is no room for debate,” adding, “Those who invaded our Capitol and battled law enforcement for hours were motivated by what President Trump had told them: That the election was stolen, and that he was the rightful president. President Trump summoned the mob, assembled the mob and lit the flame of this attack.”
Trump responded on Truth Social, writing, “Why didn’t the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end, the final moments of their last meeting? Because the Committee is a total ‘BUST’ that has only served to further divide our Country which, by the way, is doing very badly – A laughing stock all over the World?”
He continued, “The Unselect Committee knowingly failed to examine the massive voter fraud which took place during the 2020 Presidential Election – The reason for what took place on January 6th,” adding, “Why didn’t Crazy Nancy Pelosi call out the ‘troops’ before January 6th, which I strongly recommended that she do. It was her responsibility, but she ‘didn’t like the look.’ Crazy Nancy failed the American People!”

Nancy should have to testify first and then let Trump respond. OR dismiss the
whole thing since it is illegit any way. It was not formed like the rules say.
So why do they have any POWER. Nancy chose the whole committee and
minority is supposed to appoint the Republicans. Nancy does not have the
power to make laws. Or does she????

Trump requested for the National Guard to be present, which Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Mayor Bowser denied that request! Now, a tape was just leaked of Nancy Pelosi admitting that she want the January 6th riot to happen! You’re just a sheeple! You believe anything that the fake news media puts out without even doing your own research! Name the crime!
Is anybody with a half a brain actually going to believe or accept the word of a consistant liar even after he was told by all of his staff, all of his legal advisors, all of his own people at the DOJ and the losses of all of his and Rudy’s lawsuits – over 60 of them – that the election was NOT stolen from him but rather, he lost fair and square? He knew he lost the election, he knew he was lying. His refusal to acknowledge it is a big game – the same game that Hitler and Joseph Goebbells used when they ended up taking over the government of Germany, which was done with all lies, distortions and blaming minorities and anyone else that didn’t agree with them. I am a moderate Republican and I know the difference between right and wrong. DDT – Dirty Donald Traitor, is miles and miles away from the truth. His record for lies while Pres amounted to over 35,000 of them. Only an idiotic, ignorant jerk-off would believe Trump especailly after the truth was clearly and unabashedly shown what most of us already knew about the Jan 6th riot that Trump clearly orchestrated. BTW, Trump is also an idiot or pretends to be one because he knows that Nancy Pelosi has no say whatsoever about calling out the National Guard. ONLY Trump or the Sergeant -of-Arms for the House or Senate could have called them out. If there is someone else, it could only be the Secretary of Defense.
This so called committee is full of Trump haters No defense council, just prosecutors, and judges. This is a continuation of their on-going efforts to get Trump. They are terrified of him. One should ask themselves why. You only have to look at who they have aligned themselves with. Rabid elitists who hate our country and her citizens. Dissenting voices are not allowed.
Whether you like him or not Trump raises some valid questions that need answering. Right now, this entire investigation is nothing more than a witch hunt. A sad and pathetic saga regarding our governments total failure to serve all of we, the people and not just the Chosen Few! 🇺🇸
Liz Cheney and others who say “there is no room for debate” mean “do as I say, shut up and don’t dare question our power–or else!” Every politician on the J6 committee should be voted out of office–just like she was. Get these unAmerican people out of out Congress this November.
From the roster that comprises this comittee I recognise mostly Democrats and Anti TRUMP members. Gee, Martha I can only wonder how this is going to turn out? Anyone for a serving of Kangaroo meat?
