Kanye West, now known as Ye, released a video two weeks ago confirming he will be attempting another Presidental run. West has talked about running for President since the 2015 release of The Life Of Pablo, one of his most acclaimed albums, but hasn’t formally attempted a Presidental run since 2020.
On Nov. 22, West tweeted that he would be going to Mar-A-Lago for the first time and will be seeing President Donald J. Trump. West has been a publically been a Trump supporter since Trump’s presidency and said during his sit-down interview with Tucker Carlson that he supported Trump even before Trump won the presidency in 2016, however, West knew he’d be ridiculed if he made that opinion known.
In a shocking twist, West decided to ask Trump to be his “running mate in 2024,” a move that took many by surprise.

While Trump and West appear to have a strong enough friendship, Trump said that he told West not to run for President on his Truth Social:
Trump went on to add:
“Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was asking me for advice concerning some of his difficulties, in particular having to do with his business. We also discussed, to a lesser extent, politics, where I told him he should definitely not run for President, “any voters you may have should vote for TRUMP.” Anyway, we got along great, he expressed no anti-Semitism, & I appreciated all of the nice things he said about me on “Tucker Carlson.” Why wouldn’t I agree to meet? Also, I didn’t know Nick Fuentes.”
West has brought on multiple figures that are, like West, controversial. These controversial figures include Milo Yiannopoulos, and recently rumors but now confirmed, Nick Fuentes.
Milo Yiannopoulos, 38, is a right-wing British figure, as well as a former Breitbart contributor. Yiannopoulos, up until recently, identified as gay. One of his most recent controversies includes his belief that he can become someone who is formerly gay, a pursuit he’s decided to attempt since attempting to involve his Catholic faith as a more integral part of his life. Despite this, Yiannopoulos is married to a man still, as he has been since 2017. Since pursuing becoming what Yiannopoulos calls “ex-gay,” he’s come out and said his husband has been “demoted to housemate.”
Other Yiannopoulos controversies include his ridicule of Islam, feminism, social justice/ cancel culture, and his use of rude or insulting jokes. As a result of his insults toward Leslie Jones on Twitter, Yiannopoulos has been banned from Twitter since 2016.
Yiannopoulos resigned from his role at Breitbart in 2017, and has been “happily retired” since, however, he has maintained an active political role when he chooses.
Nick Fuentes, 24, is the host of America First, a live stream that has garnered controversy due to statements and clips taken from the show. Fuentes, like many right-wing figures, has been banned on Twitter, and when his clips from his live stream are posted, he is unable to clarify the clips. Instances of Fuentes clips being used by the media most notably include during January 6th news coverage, implying that his words lead to the riot. However, these allegations fall flat when the January 6th committee attempted to use anyone and everyone’s words to are not left-wing for having an alleged role in the January 6th protest. Since January 6th, Fuentes was placed on the no-fly list, labeled a “White Supremacist” by the Justice Department, and was banned from Twitter.
J.D. Vance came out in support for Fuentes after his unnecessary banning from Twitter:
Nick Fuentes has been a giant troll (and IMO dishonest) in his attacks against me. Don’t care.
