Ron DeSantis
Ron DeSantis is the current Governor of Florida, a position that he is scheduled to serve until 2024, unless he runs for President in 2024. DeSantis served in Congress until 2018, when he chose to run for Governor of Florida and would eventually go on to beat Democrat Andrew Gillum.
As Governor, DeSantis’s main focuses have been on issues such as improving the state’s economy, improving education, protecting the environment, and passed the controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill preventing LGBTQ education for young school-aged children. He has also been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and has aligned himself with Trump’s policies and positions on various issues. DeSantis is a member of the Republican Party.
