Trump Snubbed and Other Explosive Moments of the Speaker Vote

Democrats Break Out the Popcorn

As the House entered into its sixth vote Wednesday, Representative Kat Cammack, R-Fl, accused her Democratic colleagues of bringing “popcorn and blankets and alcohol” to the House during her nomination speech for McCarthy. While a few members caught up on sleep, read comics, or played games some really were eating popcorn on the House floor. As seen on Twitter, some members seemed to think the idea of popcorn while waiting in minority was pure genius. Rep. Ted Lieu of California tweeted out a photo of himself in front of his office, with a bag of popcorn with the caption, “About to go to the House Floor.”
