According to Axios, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Tucker Carlson, host of Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” exclusive access to roughly 41,000 hours of surveillance footage from Jan. 6 protests, as McCarthy sources have told Axios.

Tucker Carlson also has his Fox Nation documentary series, “Tucker Carlson Originals,” and it’s possible that this footage, once its roughly 41,000 hours are viewed and new evidence is found, could be the topic of a documentary, as well as many segments on his Fox News nightly show. Ashli Babbitt’s murder can be viewed from all angles, a better inside look into potential FBI informant Ray Epps, and how many protestors were allowed into the Capitol by Capitol Hill police officers may all come to light once this extensive video footage is viewed and able to be reported on.

According to Axios:

“[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret.”

“If there was ever a question that’s in the public’s interest to know, it’s what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it. It’s impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that.”

In January, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy told reporters in Statuary Hall that he believes “the American public should actually see all [that] happened instead of a report that’s written [on] a political basis.” Many right-wing Americans want this transparency from the government, but left-wing Americans and politicians are pushing to keep the video footage under wraps.
