Feburary 4th will mark President Trump’s third, and arguably most important, state of the union address of his Presidency. Though the President will have likely finally overcome and discredited the Democrats impeachment witch hunt once and for all, it still will remain a crucial turning point for both Republicans and the nation. It will mark the moment the nation looks to President Trump and is able to take a breath and examines the true length and breadth of his incredible accomplishments over the past year.

First, on the foreign policy front, Trump has easily accomplished more in a single year than arguably any president in modern history by killing ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Iranian Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani. The latter being potentially the most dangerous and capable terror leader in recent times who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American troops. For these two accomplishments alone, Trump has already earned a place in history and made Americans undeniably safer at home and abroad.

But foreign policy accomplishments were merely the tip of the iceberg in 2020, as Trump also oversaw a growing economy with record low unemployment rates and a record-high stock market. It appears that under Trump’s policies America has not only become a safer place to live, but also a more prosperous one as well. 

And perhaps most importantly, especially in regards to the long term health of the nation, has been the simply incredible number of conservative judges the Trump administration has appointed to the federal bench. Judges that in the future may be the key to safeguarding the rights and freedoms granted to law-abiding American citizens by the Constitution. Rights and freedoms that very well may have been under serious threat if things had gone differently in the 2016 Presidential elections. 

Though Trump has accomplished an incredible amount over the past year, his greatest challenge remains before him: winning reelection in 2020. A task which, especially in light of the threat posed by an increasingly radical and unhinged socialist Democrat party, it is now more important than ever to ensure he achieves.
