Pro-Trump businessman Mike Lindell is taking credit for recent reports that Trump could be “reinstated” in the White House by August. Lindell first made the claim on Steve Bannon’s podcast and says that Trump got the August date from him.
According to The Washington Examiner:
“If Trump is saying August, that is probably because he heard me say it publicly,” Lindell told the Daily Beast on Wednesday, though he said he doesn’t “know for sure.”
“The month of August, for this, is subjective,” he said. “It is my hope that Donald Trump is reinstated, after all the proof comes out, by the end of August, but I don’t know if it’ll be that month, specifically. I started saying August … about four weeks ago. That was my estimation. I spoke about it with my lawyers who said that they should have something ready for us to bring before the U.S. Supreme Court by July. So, in my mind, I hope that means that we could have Donald Trump back in the White House by August. That’s how I landed on August, and I’m hopeful that that is correct.”
Lindell publicly made the claim of a resumption of a Trump presidency come August during an appearance on former Trump adviser Steve Bannon’s podcast in late May.
In another appearance, he claimed, “The August part is me.”
Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn recently denied claims that he endorsed a “Myanmar-style” coup to put Trump back into the White House.
The idea that Trump could be reinstated is not plausible as the only way to remove a current president is through impeachment and conviction and then the Constitution has a clearly prescribed line of succession.
