Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has submitted his letter of resignation to President Trump.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the news:

Rosenstein drew extensive criticism from the president throughout the Mueller investigation but stayed until the completion. Rosenstein was embattled but since the release has faced little criticism from the Trump administration.
Trump has yet to appoint a replacement.
