On Friday, during House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s weekly press briefing, she made a shocking comment about migrants, appearing to claim they are good for “pick[ing] crops” — a slur against them.
The comment came in response to a question about illegal aliens being transported from places like Texas to illegal immigration “sanctuaries,” including the swanky Martha’s Vineyard island in the leftist state of Massachusetts.
Pelosi said, “We have a shortage of workers in our country.”
“In Florida, some of the farmers and the growers are saying, ‘Why are you shipping these immigrants up North? We need them to pick the crops down here.'”

The statement immediately garnered backlash on social media, with one commenter writing, “Cringe moment here. The racist part was supposed to be silent. Must be the alcohol talking.”
Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch shared the video, writing, “Overclass explains why we should have no border….”
In the same press conference, Pelosi then claimed the border with Mexico was secure, telling a reporter who asked if we have a secure border, “Well, I believe that we have to have a secure border and I think that the president has a plan to address that.”
