Could Trump Announce His 2024 Run Tonight?

The announcement starting the 2024 presidential season may come sooner than anticipated. CNN’s John King has discussed the potential that Trump may announce his 2024 presidential run on the eve of the 2022 midterms, Monday night. In the King report, he mentioned that Trump will be in Ohio with U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance Monday, and there are reports of a possible announcement. Previous reports mentioned a potential Trump announcement coming November 14th after election day ends and even after results come in.

Now CNN anchor Dana Bash has said Trump is “champing at the bit.” She also argued that he is doing it for two reasons, to take credit for the coming wave and to ride the said wave.

King said that “sources [are] telling CNN the former president may announce his 2024 presidential bid tonight on the eve of the midterm elections” while also adding:

Trump spent the weekend visiting Iowa, Pennsylvania and Florida, talking way more about himself than about Republicans on the ballot this year.
That includes constantly reminding other Republicans of his influence. That message directed not only at GOP leaders who might soon have a lot of power in Congress, but also at Republicans debating whether to challenge Trump for the 2024 nomination.
