President Trump was against the war in Iraq, mainly because it wasn’t in our interest to topple Saddam Hussein. Syria’s leader is bad, but not a direct threat to Americans. It’s not an “America First” mission. It’s the exact sort of “world police” stuff that Trump opposed during the Bush years. A better approach would be to use our economic might against Russia and keep using oil and natural gas to cripple their economy; it’s better to eat their lunch than to feed them our bullets.
