UPDATE: President Trump has signed a memo directing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to finalize the ban.

Speaking from the White House briefing room Tuesday, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders officially confirmed President Trump supports a ban on bump stocks. 

“I can tell you the President supports not having the use of bump stocks and that we expect further action on that in the coming days,” Sanders said. “The President when it comes to that is committed to ensuring those devices…I don’t want to get ahead of the announcement but I can tell you the President does not support the use of those devices.”
