President Donald Trump is reportedly striking a very different tone on Special Counsel Robert Mueller of late, telling friends and close aides that he expects Mueller to officially clear him of wrongdoing in the Russia probe.
CNN claims Trump has predicted a full exoneration — perhaps even in writing — before the end of the year, and perhaps even before Christmas.
“The President seems so convinced of his impending exoneration that he is telling associates Mueller will soon write a letter clearing him that Trump can brandish to Washington and the world in a bid to finally emerge from the cloud of suspicion that has loomed over the first chapter of his presidency,” sources told CNN.
How and where Trump got this information, though, seems to be a mystery. After all, his attorneys are only meeting this week with the Special Counsel’s team in hopes of getting a clearer idea of where Mueller’s investigation is headed, and how soon the probe might conclude.
