A belligerent student at UC Riverside who has been charged with stealing a “Make America Great Again” hat from her classmate’s head now faces serious consequences for her actions, including up to “one year in county jail.”
The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office charged Edith Macias with one count of grand theft for the incident, the College Fix reported.
Charges were filed after Macias allegedly stole the hat off Matthew Vitale’s head on September 27 in what turned into a viral video.
“The next court date on the matter is slated for March, and the maximum penalty Macias faces if convicted as currently charged is one year in county jail,” The Fix added.
