Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) said Sunday she had not seen any evidence that the Donald Trump campaign received promised “dirt” from Russian entities about Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.
Records show former campaign foreign policy adviser George Papdopoulos repeatedly sought to broker a meeting last year between Trump’s campaign and Russian officials. At one point, he met a professor who claimed to have prominent Russian connections and had “dirt” on Clinton in the form of thousands of emails.
“Have you seen any evidence that this dirt, these emails, were ever given to the Trump campaign?” CNN’s Jake Tapper asked.
“Not so far,” Feinstein said.
