The Waters of the United States or clean water rule was a late development by the Obama administration that made creeks and small waterways in certain areas the property and responsibility of the government. It is not fully in effect due to the many challenges to it from American’s and landowners across the country. Most have their concern because the government hasn’t done a good job at protection waterways, see the King’s Gold Mine Spill caused by the EPA in Colorado. These landowners are incentivized to protect the water because the probably use it for farming, fishing, or for their livestock. Trump is challenging the rule and is predicted to win the court challenge that has been brought against his choice on the matter.
