5. Trump asked Corey Lewandowski, his former campaign manager, to tell AG Sessions to limit the special counsel’s investigation only to future election interference. Trump said Lewandowski should tell Sessions he was fired if he would not meet with him.

Understand that this request could have been made because if Trump thought there were too many partisan actors in the FBI and DOJ that would try their best to tear down this administration. The prevention of further interference is completely understandable, we also now know that there was no contact between the Russians and any US citizen.
