Democrats like Castro; but to the point, they like Julian Castro too, as a former Obama administration official and former mayor of San Antonio, Texas. Castro will be 45 in 2020 and on the younger side of the Democrat field. He’s already making the financial preparations to run for office, according to Politico, but has far less recognition than others in the field, in spite of being a possible vice presidential pick for Hillary in 2016. He has an uphill climb with so many prominent liberals in the race but still makes the cut.
