Democrats are facing a tough race in 2020 and some are currently caught up in the disastrous impeachment trial, for them, this means they have another place to grandstand and give political speeches much to the dismay of their colleagues in the Senate. 

Another point of interest that came up in the trial is all the questions that the Democrats blocked in the House when they had the power of silence those who were in defense of the President. 

As for the impeachment trial, it has turned into a total disaster for the Democrats. The House impeachment managers have totally alienated some Republicans who may have given them witnesses while Trump’s team of experts have completely ripped apart any and all arguments they have had to offer.
