Former GOP Presidential Candidate Interviews With Trump

Former GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie has reportedly interviewed to become Trump’s next chief of staff according to reports.

According to The New York Post:

Chris Christie is a leading contender to become the next White House chief of staff — and met with President Trump Thursday night to discuss the gig, according to new reports.

“He’s tough; he’s an attorney; he’s politically savvy, and one of Trump’s early supporters,” a source “familiar with the president’s thinking” told Axios.

The former New Jersey governor initially served as chairman of Trump’s transition team following the 2016 election — but was unceremoniously demoted in favor of Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump said Thursday he’s narrowed the field of candidates to replace his current chief of staff, John Kelly, to five people.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is also reportedly in the running to replace John Kelly as chief of staff.
