Republican Sen. Rand Paul used Twitter to hammer former CIA Director John Brennan’s characterization of President Trump as a “disgraced demagogue” on Sunday with a scathing criticism of the “disgraceful” way Brennan ran the agency when he was in charge.
This man had the power to search every American’s records without a warrant. What’s disgraceful is attacking the Bill of Rights and the freedom of every American. https://t.co/l0cORowhKP

“This man had the power to search every American’s records without a warrant,” Paul tweeted Sunday in response to Brennan’s Saturday morning tweet criticizing President Trump. “What’s disgraceful is attacking the Bill of Rights and the freedom of every American.”
The morning after news broke of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s firing, Brennan tweeted that President Trump will soon take his place “as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history.”
When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America…America will triumph over you. https://t.co/uKppoDbduj

Although Senator Paul’s loathing of Brennan is long and quite public, dating from his famous 2013 13-hour filibuster trying to block Obama’s choice of Brennan to head the CIA, he wasn’t the only notable to criticize the former Obama appointee’s “unhinged” tweet.
A year ago, media narrative was that intel chiefs were a bunch of apolitical boyscouts who were right to take pee-pee kompromat claims seriously. As Brennan’s increasingly unhinged tweets show, a year later, that narrative (and push by compliant media) looks patently absurd. https://t.co/XIbQhbB0wy

Over the top comments from this and other senior former Obama officials show why it isn’t difficult to imagine the Obama intelligence apparatus’ being misused and abused to target @realDonaldTrump. https://t.co/zpqwofpFyy
