REPORT Ivanka’s Adviser Departing White House

A key adviser to Ivanka Trump is reportedly leaving the White House. The report indicated that there are no plans to replace the departing adviser who was a major player in Ivanka’s push for paid family leave.

According to The Hill:

Ivanka Trump’s top adviser on paid family leave has reportedly left her position at the White House.

Politico reported on Thursday that Maggie Cordish, a close friend of the adviser to President Trump, left her role and that there are no plans to replace her.

A White House official confirmed the development to Politico, but pushed back against the idea that it means the White House’s efforts to pass a paid family leave bill are fading.

Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter, has made paid family leave a core focus in her role at the White House. In July 2017, she wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, stating that a national guaranteed paid-leave program is “an investment in America’s working families.”

This looks to be a major blow to Ivanka’s main platform in Washington. It will be interesting to watch whether Ivanka can get a solution passed in Congress.
