This is big, and a good indicator that the new administration takes the cause of protecting the unborn very seriously. As the Examiner reports:
Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the March for Life on Friday, becoming the highest-ranking administration official to speak at the annual abortion protest.
Republican presidents including Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush have spoken remotely to the march, but this is the first time a vice president has attended. Pence is a favorite among anti-abortion activists for the moves he has made as Indiana governor and as a member of Congress.
Hundreds of thousands of people typically attend the march, which has been held every year since the Supreme Court legalized abortion in its 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. Protesters will meet for a rally at noon on Friday at the National Mall, and then march down Constitution Avenue and end up at the Supreme Court.
