Trump Praises Senate Republicans, Rips Democrats, On Budget Passage

President Trump on Friday hailed the Senate’s approval of a budget resolution as a critical first step in Republicans’ efforts to implement sweeping tax cuts.

“The Budget passed late last night, 51 to 49. We got ZERO Democrat votes with only Rand Paul (he will vote for Tax Cuts) voting against,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“This now allows for the passage of large scale Tax Cuts (and Reform), which will be the biggest in the history of our country!”

The vote late Thursday night will allow Republicans to pass tax reform legislation with 50 votes instead of 60, meaning that the GOP will not need to rally any Democratic support for the measure.
