Media Hypocrisy Omits How Obama Used Data

You are supposed to freak out because the media says so. A prime example of that is the Cambridge Analytica story, where the Trump campaign partnered with an evil firm that shocked the world by targeting voters with data from social media. 

Guess who boasted about using that same data? Carol Davidsen, a media director for Obama’s 2012 campaign, tweeted “They came to office in the days following election recruiting & were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side.” 

“We ingested the entire U.S. social graph,” Davidsen told the Washington Post. “We would ask permission to basically scrape your profile, and also scrape your friends, basically anything that was available to scrape. We scraped it all.” She has admitted this for years; she told this to a gathering in 2015.

Obama campaign manager shared a similar boast in 2013. This episode proves that the only data the media has a problem with is the data that elects Republicans like President Trump because they didn’t have a problem with Obama doing it.
