President Trump is reportedly considering former presidential candidate Herman Cain for a role in the federal reserve.
According to CNBC:
Former presidential candidate and Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain is under consideration for a Federal Reserve appointment, CNBC has confirmed.
President Donald Trump is contemplating nominating Cain for a Fed governorship. Cain is a former chairman of the Kansas City Fed.
Cain met with Trump yesterday at the White House, where he was escorted by National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow, CNBC’s Eamon Javers confirmed.
White House sources said Trump is meeting with multiple candidates for the Fed vacancy.
Cain’s presidential candidacy was derailed by allegations of sexual misconduct. He briefly led in the polls while running for president in 2011.
