Chinese Military 

The Chinese military is extraordinarily powerful and could very well defeat the US in a head-to-head conflict. 

The Chinese military has a series of advantages over the US, one of the biggest advantages being the sheer size of China. China is a massive country with plenty of military-aged men ready to go to war, the size of their armies might be too big to fight. 

China also has a major advantage considering its region, China is after all much closer to Taiwan than the United States and if this is what we were to fight over it would be very difficult to fight a war there. 

One major disadvantage the Chinese military has in a potential conflict with the US is its troops. While China has significantly more troops than the US does, these troops are not well trained and do not have the small arms advantage. The QBZ 191 and other rifles like it are vastly inferior to the M16 and M249 that the US currently uses. Also, consider that the United States military will soon get an arms upgrade, the Army is currently holding trials for new arms and the options available are vastly superior to any arms the Chinese are capable of producing.
