A government watchdog agency, The Office of Special Counsel, determined that 13 members of the Trump administration had violated the Hatch Act by campaigning for the President during the 2020 election.
The Hatch Act stops federal employees from involving themselves in political campaigns while using assets from the federal government. The Hatch Act is frequently violated in Washington by members of presidential administrations and regular bureaucrats, some cases are of course more extreme than others but for the most part, many don’t really mean to break the rules.
