If you can move beyond the frankly disgusting political partisanship and intolerance, her message is fiscally irresponsible, even dangerous. The governor probably already knows this, but the state’s extensive public sector is heavily reliant on personal income taxes paid by residents, and with nearly $14 billion in projected budget gaps over the next five years, it can’t afford to lose any taxpayers, let alone 5.4 million of them.
The Empire State has already lost 1.5 million residents in the past decade, and there’s no sign of that trend letting up. In fact, more than 350,000 New Yorkers relocated during the 12 pandemic-plagued months leading up to July 1, 2021.
In her attempt to be snappy, Hochul exposed a major problem that has gripped our state since the dawn of the Cuomo-Hochul era: New Yorkers are leaving, and they’re taking their tax dollars with them.
Hochul should be doing everything she can to encourage people to come to New York, not to leave. But she’s hasn’t. And her record $220 billion budget suggests she has no interest in ever letting taxpayers off a heavy hook.
What a nasty, evil woman. She sould be the one to leave New York. She is free to emigrate to Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, etc. as soon as possible. She does not belong in the United States.

The guy that lives across the alley from me put up security cameras all around the outside of his house. The video shows prowlers going up and down the alley looking for things to steal or destroy. I’m afraid to stay in my house or leave it.

The problem with this isn’t Gov. Hochul demanding that Republicans leave New York – I’m sure a great many of them would love to do so if their personal circumstances allowed. The problem is that every time New York does something stupid which they can’t afford, they expect the rest of the nation to bail them out. SO what the Governor REALLY wants is for Republicans to leave… their money behind. She doesn’t care where they live, so long as they aren’t screwing up her political profiteering. Then the Governor was notified of this which should have required her to suspend and investigate the NYAG. But AGAIN, nothing was done. The governor has NO RIGHT to tell NYorkers to move out of NY. Constitution gives American an absolute right to stay or move wherever we want. She’s nut and not has the ability to govern the state, she should move out of governor’s residence.

One other thing to be considered: With that many people leaving NY state there would be a corresponding loss of seats in the US House of Representatives. NY all ready lost one seat because the 2020 census reflected a population loss. Since each member of the House represents about 747,184 persons, This would mean that the loss of 5.2 million people would also mean the loss of at least 6 House seats.
