Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina and a presidential hopeful, faced heckling from supporters of former President Donald Trump after her speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2023. Despite launching her presidential candidacy just a month ago, Haley spoke to a small group of Republican attendees, and as she was leaving, Trump’s supporters started shouting, “We love Trump! We love Trump!” at her. The incident took place at the hotel in National Harbor, Maryland, which hosted the conservative conference.

After signing autographs and taking selfies with some CPAC attendees, Haley left the venue with her staff. Given the CPAC’s history of being overwhelmingly composed of Trump supporters, it was not surprising that some of them heckled Haley after her speech. The WPA Intelligence survey revealed that Haley had only 8% support in a hypothetical 2024 GOP primary, with Ron DeSantis receiving 44% support and Trump being the preferred presidential nominee of 31% of respondents.

During her speech, Haley focused on her campaign promises, including ending foreign aid to “countries that hate America,” which was the loudest moment of her speech. Alongside entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Haley was one of two declared Republican presidential candidates who spoke at CPAC on Friday. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also addressed the crowd, and the former president was scheduled to speak on Saturday.

Despite the heckling and her relatively low standing in the polls, Haley remains committed to challenging Trump for the Republican nomination in 2024.
