In the midst of rumors suggesting that Trump may have sidelined Kari Lake, there is speculation about another candidate being considered as a potential Vice Presidential pick by Trump—New York Rep. Elise Stefanik.

Expressing his thoughts on Truth Social, Trump stated:

“Elise is FANTASTIC!”

Elise Stefanik, the current Chair of the House Republican Conference and the third-ranking Republican in the US House of Representatives, has not dismissed the possibility of running as Vice President alongside Donald Trump in the 2024 election. While Trump reportedly views her as a potential running mate, Stefanik’s current focus lies on her re-election campaign and aiding Republicans in winning a House majority in 2022.

Stefanik has been a steadfast supporter of Trump since his initial impeachment trial in 2019 and holds the distinction of being the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, representing New York’s 21st congressional district. She garnered national attention at the 2020 Republican National Convention by lauding Trump’s policies and criticizing Democrats, particularly House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Representative Adam Schiff.

In May 2021, Stefanik replaced Representative Liz Cheney as the third-ranking Republican in the House, showcasing Trump’s enduring influence within the party. Trump subsequently endorsed Stefanik in her re-election campaign.

Last year, Stefanik commented on the possibility of being Trump’s Vice President should he win in 2024, saying:

“I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future,” Stefanik said when asked by The Post if she was ruling out a future veep run alongside Trump.

“I want to congratulate Elise on her success. Man is she moving fast. That means at this rate she’ll be President in about 6 years,” Trump said of Stefanik in January of 2022.
