Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-Calif., wants a Republican party that stands for government run healthcare like Obamacare, and global warming tax schemes. His new group stands in opposition of the Trump brand of Republican politics.
The Associated Press reports that he is promoting a liberal Republican group to pull California Republicans to the left, called “New Way California”. He will be holding an event today with Gov. John Kasich, R-Ohio, promoting vague notions that look conspicuously similar to the positions of Democrats.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger ran in 2003 to unseat liberal Gray Davis, he ran as a conservative. He met stiff opposition by liberal majorities in the legislature, and backed away from the conservatism of his campaign.
Given the whispers about a Kasich run in 2020, these rumblings could be the beginning of the establishment’s uprising to take down President Trump at the ballot box. They are so out of touch that they think there is a hunger for more RINOs, when phony moderates have been all but ran out of the Republican party; they have have to go through Trump Republicans to get their power back, and the president’s supporters aren’t budging.
