Bernie “Half of older workers have no savings as they face retirement”
Bernie is claiming that many are not prepared for retirement and he is right to say that half of older workers do not have savings as the Government Accountability Office(GOA) found the same thing. This does not mean that people do not have a plan for retirement though, 23% of those households had a defined benefit plan from an employer. These include pensions and or an annuity. With this new data to consider we get a different set of numbers, only 3 in 10 households do not have a plan for retirement.
