There were major press failures with both British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both leaders were more than willing to interact with the press and take some questions while meeting with Biden but the White House decided its best to leave questions unanswered.

British PM Boris Johnson was actually able to answer a few questions but these questions quickly came to a halt when White House staff began shouting down reporters and shuffling people out of the room. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki would then go on to lie about the situation and claimed that the reason reporters were not allowed to ask questions was because of Boris Johnson. Psaki told reporters that the British PM did not inform the White House that he wanted to answer questions and therefore it was his fault the fiasco even occurred.

Following these incidents Jen Psaki was asked about whether or not Biden was upholding his promise to have a transparent administration. Psaki managed to dodge this question entirely saying that the Biden administration is in full support of freedom of the press.
