Nearly every true conservative has spoken out against the FBI raid on 45th President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, which has sent shockwaves across the country and world. But Democrats are extatic about the use of the federal government as a political battering ram to attack political foes.
RedState reports:
But though some Democrats were gleeful over the news of what is unmistakably a politically-motivated raid designed in part to try and knock Trump out of contention for 2024 should he decide to run, Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) had some rather interesting reactions to what went down at Trump’s Florida estate.
Appearing on Rachel Maddow’s program on MSNBC Monday night, Schumer was repeatedly pressed early on about what happened and what his thoughts were. He appeared visibly uncomfortable at times, uncharacteristically refusing to comment and saying to do so right now would be “premature” because “none of us know the facts”:
But later, Schumer in some ways gave the game away, suggesting Republicans are “gonna pay a price for this in the election” and noting he believed Democrats should use the raid “as an issue” in the coming months, stating without any obvious sense of irony or self-awareness whatsoever considering the circumstances that “the rule of law and the protection of democracy is a key issue here, and we better watch out if we give Republicans power in either the House or the Senate.”
