After he voted to impeach Donald Trump, his home state’s republican party voted to censure him. Trump said that Gonzalez had “voted for the unhinged, unconstitutional, illegal impeachment witch hunt.” He called Gonzales a sellout, a fake republican, and a disgrace to his state.

Gonzales announced that he won’t seek re-election and no one is sad to see him go.
