Representative Jim Banks (R-Ind.) has given his prediction for why the Red Tsunami didn’t go as forecasted this past week. Rep. Banks has said that the Republican 2022 midterm losses were not because of Former President Donald Trump, as he wasn’t on the ballot. He mentioned that when he was, in both 2016 and 2020, Republicans won more seats. While he supported many candidates on the ballot, it doesn’t change the fact that he wasn’t on the ballot himself. While many are theorizing he has been the reason the Republicans did not receive the win they were projected to, Banks feels it definitely wasn’t Trump’s fault.
According to The Epoch Times, “in the House, Republican candidates got 6 million more votes than Democrat candidates” and while it is not yet comfirmed who will take control of the House Democrats were given the Senate. This comes after the projected takeover from the GOP failed, many Republicans and conservative-leaning media outlets, according to The Epoch Times, are blaming Trump for the midterm results while he was actually a pretty effective campaigner with many of the candidates he endorsed winning their elections.
Though in the coming days’ many events will be taking place such as the highly anticipated Trump 2024 announcement, and votes within the party leadership. It will be interesting to see how Trump fairs as all of these events unfold.
