The Biden campaign in picking up the pace. Biden came out to give his acceptance speech DNC that many are saying that this is his best performance yet. “The Daily Briefing” host Dana Perino congratulated him for the speech and echoed the message that it was his best speech yet, but Perino and her guests had some other criticisms for it. More from Fox News:
“In a three-sentence stanza, he said he was going to create millions of jobs through green investments by repealing the Trump tax cuts,” she said. “If you tease that out, I’m not exactly sure how that works.
“But this was a speech that was 80% appealing to the heart and 20% policy.”
Perino’s former White House colleague Karl Rove largely concurred with her impressions, saying Biden had given a “very good” speech.
“He had a balancing act here tonight,” Rove said of Biden. “He was trying to balance two different things. One was … portraying himself as a unifier who would bring the country together. He did so very effectively and if I were a Republican strategist in the Trump campaign, I’d be worried about how long and how effectively he carries that theme forward, because that’s the thing that will keep the swing voters in his camp, if they are in his camp, or bring them to him.”
A glaring issue Biden did have with his speech was his policy ideas seemed to be absent from it. Joe Biden has attempted to endorse more progressive policies while maintaining his moderate appeal, this balancing act has been difficult but it looks like things are sure to get even harder as the election comes closer and closer.
